Hello everyone!
I’m thrilled to finally share something I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into over the past few months – my 3D artwork portfolio. From realistic props to stylized assets, each piece represents a step forward in my creative and professional journey as a 3D artist.
Vintage Radio (1980s) – Game-Ready Asset
This project recreates my dad’s 1980s radio, a nostalgic piece from my childhood. Finding it tucked away in his closet brought back vivid memories of listening to it as a child. As a 3D artist, I felt inspired to bring this cherished object to life in 3D.
I approached this as a low-poly asset with an 8.5K triangle count, optimized for real-time applications. Given the geometry's simplicity, I opted not to use baking, focusing instead on detailed texturing to capture its aged and worn appearance.
Workflow & Tools
- Modeling & UVs: Autodesk Maya
- Texturing: Substance Painter, with additional detailing in Photoshop
- Materials: Two materials (including opacity)
- Rendering: Marmoset Toolbag
To enhance realism, I used reference images and hand-painted some textures in Photoshop. My goal was to create an authentic vintage look while keeping the asset optimized for games.
I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Amplifier, Speaker Box & Microphone – Game-Ready 3D Asset
I’m excited to share my latest 3D asset designed for gaming environments: a realistic yet optimized amplifier setup, complete with a speaker box and microphone. This project focused on maintaining high visual fidelity while keeping performance efficient for real-time applications.
🛠️ Workflow & Process
- Modeling & UV Mapping: Built in Autodesk Maya with a low-poly structure (~54K triangle count), retaining key silhouette and detail.
- Texturing: Hand-painted in Substance Painter using 4K textures across three materials to achieve clarity and realism.
- Reference & Creativity: Inspired by real-world references, with added design tweaks to enhance aesthetics and storytelling.
🚀 First Time Going Low-Poly
This was my first time creating a low-poly asset, and the experience was invaluable. I learned a lot about geometry optimization, material handling, and real-time performance.
⏳ Time Breakdown
- Modeling: ~3 hours
- UV Mapping: ~30 minutes
- Texturing: ~2 hours
I truly enjoyed working on this project, and I hope it reflects in the final result. As always, feedback is welcome—thanks for reading!
